Howww?

in angst,internet thingy

I am having a huge headache now due to one problem.

Haloscan.

Dulu when I was on blogspot platform, I used haloscan instead of the normal blogspot comment toool. Sebab masa tu blogspot punya komen keji dan haloscan macam stylolah kan.

Least that I know, haloscan comment cannot be exported. Dulu boleh kau baya $12, tapi aku tanak bayar. Even bayarpon, tak boleh transfer directly, kene ada tambah coding lain and install plugin apa benda tah.

Tapi sekarang bila aku willing nak bayar, dia takde offer dah pulakkkkkkkkk.

Babi tak?

Komen aku dalam tu ada 20 x 540 pages = 10800 comments okkkkkkkkkk.

Matilah kalau nak transfer manually.

Aku sakit hati bila bukak entry lama komen kosong.

So the whole day Ihave been looking for the solution, js kit jangan cakapla macam lanch , not helping at all. Balik-balik nak suruh aku integrate dengan new tools dia yang tak best tu. Kalau aku install pon bukan boleh transfer komen lama.

And then I managed to find some solution , other solution but it needed high comprehension on dealing with localhost, directories and apa lancahau tah lagi. Haramm aku nak paham.

I know that many faced this problem tapi ada tak yang berjaya mentransferkan comments from haloscan to wordpress?

I need to know. I really really need to know.

Kalau tak, by the time malam kang, otak aku dah penuh dengan nanah beku.

Tracking your blog activities

in how-to

Ok. I received questions on how to track your blog statistic.

This feature might seems as something not important but actually it is,especially if you want to track some penyangak in your blog.

Here is how you can track your blog statistics.

For free wordpress users

You don’t have to install anything; you can track your stat from your dashboard [My Dashboard, not Global dashboard]. It is located below your “Recent Comment” and “Incoming Links”.

For premium wordpress users [or those install wordpress in their own server]

Oh WordPress premium is a mighty tools [I will blog about it in some other entry], if you are using one, you should know this by now :P . There so many plugin to be used including this stat tracking plugin, WordPress.com Stats . All you need to do is install the plugin, activate it.

You will be required to nter your API Key [can be found on your Global Dashboard - to find this thing on wp premium can be tricky though! Just click "Get your key here"]

And you are done!

The stat page location is also similar to the free version, below the “Recent Comment” and ”Incoming Link” at your dashboard page.

Blogger [blogspot] users

This also applies to the other blogging platform that allows user to edit their blog main template or should I say their part.

Now there are many types of stat counter available, just google it and you will find it. The most common is Statcounter.com. The service they offer is quite extensive; here are some of their screenshots.

Anyway, you could find more from their website.

I never used stat counter from statcounter.com before, instead I used Ritecounter from Ritecounter.com because back then, not many offered invisible stat counter and Ritecounter provide that feature.

So how’s Ritecounter? Overall I am satisfied.

Features that I love the most:

  • Referral
  • Visitors route
  • Keyphrases

Just to name a few.

Oh screenshots.

Siapala yang search “romen dengan emak” ni? Sick sungguh!

Why am I using two stat counter you asked? Oh I love to see the details of the visitors to my blog and wordpress stats does not provide the tiny mini details like ritecounter or other independent counters. So, even if you host a wordpress blog on your server, you can also install these counters1

Anyway, how lah to embed it into the blog?

Usually, the counter/tracker will generate a code for you and ask you to put in somewhere in the coding, normally between the and part.

First, log in to your blog and the blogger dashboard will load. Choose which blog you want to install the code and click “Layout”

Sila abaikan nama aku yang poyo tu ye, zaman budak-budakla katakan [haha ->gelak kaver malu]

Upon clicking “Layout”, you will be directed to the layout page where you can see 4 tabs which are Page Elements, Fonts and Colours, Edit HTML and Pick New Template. Choose “Edit HTML”

Look for <body> part and paste the code between the <body> and </body>

Click save and that’s it.

But beware this thing is addictive! Especially if you are a loser who got nothing to do like me hehe.

Happy tracking!
