I only watched the first season ala yang zabrina dengan apa ke nama partner die tu menang. That one was quite ok, ada variety. Oh I am talking about amazing race asia here.
The second season aku dah malas nak tengok sebab I feel it’s too commercialised. A Malaysian singer’s sister, who have pan asian looks and keep annoying me my saying “respect your wommen-ehhh[dengung disitu] on mix.fm? Come onlah, aku rasa nnoyed ada takde rasa nak respect pon. In fact most of the contestant have some look, kalau tak chantek/hemsem pon polishla sikit. Or with career [although ada couple yang differently able].
Sampai aku sendiri pon tak boleh determine yang mana satu negara mana sebab all of them look almost the same. Well, tak semua tapi almost. The accent adela satu dua yang nyonya and jawa lain-lain tu wahhh.
The third season. My, my. The contestants are miss universe, actor, actress, tv host, model bla..bla. ala you knowlah. I mean, can’t you just name it the amazing race of the famous and known instead? Or instead of saying “send you most interesting video bla..bla” just say “Heh, if you are nobody or unknown, kau jangan nak gatal-gatal hantar application”
I mean, what’s so amazing about that?
What would amaze me is when you choose those with real ethnicity. Like kalau Malaysia you can choose Indians who are proud to be Indian instead of wanting to be nigger, or chinese who are proud of their eyes and malay who are you know, maybe mat rempit ke? Or, those sabah and sarawakian ethnicity. Like he said, dayak or whatsoever. And don’t say that those people did not send their application, coz I know, some of they did.
Don’t they deserve a chance too? Why should you give chances to people who can afford to travel and see the globe while you know, racing? Kasila dekat orang yang agak-agak macam takde chance nak merasa those kind of experience. And those who have really interesting personality. I said personality, not lifestyle.
But heh, the bottom line is, it’s all about the money. Komfemla orang berpusu-pusu nak tengok Bernie berlari-lari dan menggelupurkan. Ataupon, some model indon yang cun terlari-lari , pengsan dan diangkat oleh boyfriendnya yang menyumpah-nyumpah. Itu semua foreseen drama. And who make the most money? AXN dan astro jugak.

Back to our topic, let’s just think for few moment, will it not be interesting to see some dayak struggling or some normal Indian racing with some japanese in order to win dicabar pula oleh mat rempit yang komfem menang dalam challange yang memerlukan bawak motor[kadang-kadang diorang kene naik motorkan hehe] ? Lagi-lagi kalau they are not too exposed, they don’t know what to expect what to see. That, to me will be one hell of entertainment.
Perhaps then amazement could be created.
