Anniversary Dinner – La Risata

Although our anniversary was over few weeks ago, I feel like celebrating it over a dinner.

It was planned last minute and I was asked by Swirly to choose the venue. Because I don’t know where else to go, I decided to try La Risata, the Medan Damanasara.

We always love Italian food, so why notlah, I think.

The shop was located behind Victoria Station, Medan Damansara. It was not difficult to spot but parking might be a hassle. Luckily we arrived early so there were plenty.

Ready to melantak

The ambiance was quite nice but from what I saw on the Internet, the ampang branch is nicer. We chose to seat outside  - smoking section.

After placing our orders, we were served with bread and olive [and something else] dip.

Bread and dip

It was ok, the dip was something different than the usual balsamic vinegar.

Because we are tamak people yang berperut buncit, we ordered 2 appertisers

Gnocchi

I have to apologise, I don’t remember their real names and I am too lazy to google them so I will just write as what I remember okies?

The above is potato gnocchi with shrimps. Macam potato dumpling. It was not too bad but not great either.

Chicken pate

Chicken pate or chicken liver with toast bread.

I was salivating over this when Swirly ordered them because I was reminded how delicious was the pate back in Sofitel Angkor. But this one was ordinary.

Then come the main course.

Seafood sour soup

Swirly ordered the seafood sour soup [or something like that]. Mind you, this is the half portion and it was big!

The soup was not bad tapi yang best it was full of clams, squids and other hidupan laut. Tidak kedekut.

My bedmate enjoyed his meal :)

Salmon Ravioli

I LOVE ravioli!

And this one is salmon ravioli with salmon sauce. It was not the best but I love it nonetheless.

The thing is with ravioli, adalah cepat kenyang walaupun there are only small stuffed pockets.

I was actually full but still so gatal to order dessert.

Bread pudding and caramel

This one was ok-ok only. I was expecting something more spectacular. I mean, how can it goes wrong with bread pudding right?

Verdict?

kenyang face

“]

Another kenyang face [swirled version :P

Kenyang!

All in all it was a good night, although the food was so-so only.

We still prefer Ciao and Italian Kitchen.

Let’s try another place next year!

P/S. I know I twitted the unswirled version of Swirly but it feels weird not having his face swirled :P

Order for cornflakes cookies is now open

Order for cornflakes cookies is closed.

I have been wanting to open the order earlier tapi rasa keji sangat, puasa ganti pun tak habis lagi tetibe dah nak start jual kuih raya.

Tapi disebabkan dah nak habis bulan July and August will be here soon, so rasanya bolehlah.

Ada yang dah order awal, thank you and I already allocate the slots :D

The cornflakes cookies is back untuk this hari raya. And for that, I am sorry to say all orders for macarons will be temporarily closed.

Kalau boleh for Ramadhan I just want to concentrate on the cookies tapi cakes, brownies and cupcakes [with simple design] masih diterima, dengan notice 3 days earlier.

Ingredients  consist of buttercup, egg and sugar. If you don’t like sweet stuff, I can always make it less sweet for you, just drop a note bila nak check out nanti.

Price:

RM 21 for 48 -50 pieces

RM 40 for 98 – 100 pieces

To order, you can click to Keiki Kookies here.

Click “Add to Cart” to order. And lepas dah click situ jangan lupa check out

Which will bring you to isi form – alamat etc bla..bla.

Lepas tu kan, kan, disebabkan aku pelupa adalah kena click di tab “slot” yang located dekat atas webpage tu.

Lepas tu pilih tarikh yang bila you bunnies want the cookies.

Click and a window will come out.

So tulislah

Nama:

Email add:

Oder: [berapa nak]

Nak ambik macamana: [and other notes]

I will sent a confirmation email to you to confirm your order.

Okies. Senang kan?

For delivery, I won’t be doing door to door delivery everyday anymore so there are few options.

  1. I might choose one day every week and those who orders can meet up and collect the cookies. I might choose places dekat KL, PJ and Shah Alam, but mungkin malam.

  1. Or you can always come pick it up at my place [for those yang dah penah datang, aku nak pindah, ask me for the new address nanti ye].

  1. I might also hire a despatch boy to send the cookies, ini still under negotiation and there will be some extra charges.

  1. Via post, RM10 min, usually 1-3 botol lepas ni, Other than that, let me know, I’ll give you the rates

  1. Or you can suggest any delivery method tapi door to door saya adalah tak larat unless you live nearby or ada special case [with extra chargeslah yang ini]

Kalau nak rasa or suka kuih cornflakes, place lah your orders nowww :D

Have a wonderful day ahead!

Birthday dinner at Ayers Rock, Bukit Jelutong.

in family,food,review

Aie was very kind and generous [kene puji sikit hehe] to belanja us all at Ayers Rock, Bukit Jelutong to celebrate emak’s birthday.

I’ve read about this place form rumet’s blog and had told emak about it, tapi masa tu mak layan tak layan aku je. Tapi when her friends tetibe bercerita, baru dia beriya nak pergi.

Birthday girl dapat hadiah

Mak punya favourite food adalah steak, kalau selama ni suka sangat pergi Victoria so kali ni try kedai ni pulak.

Brooch yang cantik from Lyn and Aie

The resturant also serves as a butcher shop. You could find different types of meat here tapi choice dia takdelah banyak melampau.

One thing about this place is, the way they cook their meat is so simple takde gravy nor style yang pelbagai jenis. Tapi perfect sebab dengan cara yang simple tu, you can actually the taste the meat.

I tell you, they were juicy!

Mine - Grainfed rib eye steak

Initially I wanted to order shortribs tapi takdela pulak so I ordered the grainfed ribeye steak instead, it costs around RM50. I asked the girl what’s the difference between the normal ribeye and the grainfed ones, she said the grainfed is more tender.

True enough. Sangat tender.

What I like about this steak was the simplicity. Mine was medium rare yet it was “cook” enough and I did not get the “muak” feeling. Infact, I managed to finished the whole chunk walaupun adalah full sebenarnya [belasah 1901, bubble tea and keropok apa ntah before the dinner].

Aie's fat burger

I did not taste this burger but I believed it was not bad too and the price is very afforadable. RM 20 / rm 25[not sure] for a fat-200 gram- juicy burger.

Emak's grainfed tenderloin steak

Did not taste this either but emak said it was not bad.

Lyn ordered some lamb tapi takde gambar sebab masa ni tukang ambik gambar [emak] tengah busy makan hehe.

Muka kenyang

The menu was pretty straighforward, it was all about the meat. No appertiser or dessert.

So do not expect something fancy. If you are all about juicy meat, then this is the place.

Cakap apa pun tatau sampai berkerut muka.

They also have other branches at Wangsa Maju and Kota Damansara.

Would I come back?

Definitely.
