Misteri makanan busuk

For the past few days I realised my cats, ah beng especially adalah seperti tak sihat. Not entirely but he was not as active as usual. And I found him muntah after eating.

I was wondering why and was worried too. I told Swirly but he said not to worry since he was still active and playing cuma kurang ceria sikit jelah.

Other than that, I also noticed all of them like to cakar-cakar pintu store, where I keep their food but I thought they were just being naughty.

Yesterday evening as usual I fed the cats. Usually I will them different food in the morning – low ph for ah beng’s kidney stone problem and in the evening, I will feed them feline’s principal.

So while I scoped for some feline’s principal using my hand [I was lazy to get bekas or whatsoever], I noticed some weird smell. Sort of foul smell tapi tak kuat sangat. And the smell got stronger when I tried to close the cat’s food.

Hati aku dah tak sedap.

Cipetla, apa la benda pulakkkk yang bau semacam niiiiiiiiiiiii? Dahla datang dari dalam bekas makanan kucing. Being me, dah tentulah aku tak berani nak tengok so I just put it aside and wait for the bedmate to come home.

I was hoping that it was just my imagination. Ye kan hidung aku ni suka nak bau bukan-bukan kadang-kadang tu. Orang cuci lantai aku terbau orang masak kari.

But turned out to be, I was not imagining.

When Swirly got home, aku dengan annoyingnya telah suruh dia cek.

The moment he held the cat’s food, it was wet, bekas dialah. Which was weird sebab mana datangnya air itu? I was pretty sure none of the cats went into the room sebab aku memang dah tutup pintu.

And thennnnnnnnnnnnnnnn as he spilled the food onto a plastic bag he said

“Yeah, there’s something dead inside here. A squirrel”

Oh my God! It must have been Syahida! In case you have no idea, siapa Syahida, I wrote about her in this entry.

She must have been mencungkil her way into the cat’s food dan feast herself [ The food bekas was made from paper - standard packaging]. Sampailahhhhhhhhhh dia lemasss dan tak boleh keluarrrrrrr.

Dan air itu, mungkin dia tersangat takut sampai terkencing atau air kencing dia terkeluar lepas dia mati due to beberapa hari menahan. Or it could be the water from her mayat. Eeeeek.

And the cats must have known this sebab itulah diorang asyiklaaa nak masuk bilik tu cakar-cakar pintu. Since squirrel is also a rodent, mungkin itulah sebab ah beng was not feeling well. I will watch him carefully, kalau ada tanda-tanda semakin teruk will bring him tot the vet.

God, I have been feeding my cats makanan bercampur bangkai for the past few days [although I suspected she only died the day this entry was written or the day before judging from the smell and the body belum rotting lagi].

Dan yang paling cibai sekali, aku dah masukkan tangan aku dalam bekas tu sambil korek-korek. Cuba imagine kalau aku ambitious nak capai makanan yang dedekat bawah, komfemmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm aku akan tersentuh bangkai syahida. Eekkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk.

Itu satu, masa Swirly discovered the carcass and announced it out loud, I was eating nachos lengkap dengan sour cream bagai. Automatically rasa nak terkeluar balik.

Kembang tekak!

Eh tapi habis gaklah semua nachos tu aku bedal kan hehe [dalam geli kembang tekak tu].

Dengan penemuan yang agak keji ini, misteri makanan busuk dan misteri kehilangan syahida telah terbongkar. Kesian Syahida [ walaupon mati dikelilingi makanan..but still!]
