I always want to do something to exercise. Initially I went for jogging but lately my schedule didn’t allow me to do so and dicampur dengan jerebu lagilah, tinggal kenangan je semua tu.
So when Ninie [manusia yang macam takde spine sebab boleh melentok-lentok pelbagai rupa] invited me for a yoga session for bloggers at her Yoga Center, beyoga, I have to say yes.
Although I don’t know what to expect.
In her email she wrote

Beginners (although muscle pain and be drenched in sweat should still be expected!)
And I was like.. yoga= drenched sweat? Sure or noooooooot? Hehhh

Honestly, I know nothing about yoga, never tried it sebab tak pernah ada chance to try- I didn’t know where to go. Which explained my anxiety sebab for surelah the other bloggers ramai yang dah pernah try yoga or even master them. Luckily I met Huai Bin, who was also a yoga virgin – which later discover he’s as flexible as plastic man.

So before I start, I managed to find out a little bit about yoga. Yelah kenela tahu apa bendanya takkan nak main pergi je kan.

Maybe lots of people out there berasa sedikit segan or taken back to join yoga because of the wrong misconception that they have
a) Yoga is only for those who are flexible and skinny
Wrong , any type of body can join but I can say, after a while yoga can help to shape your body, why? You will understand by the end of this entry
b) Yoga is only for the rich and famous
Wrong, it’s for everyone. You think it’s fucking expensive to enroll a yoga class? Not really, if you could afford a gym membership, a supply or a month rokok or even that nine west heels then you can afford a yoga membership
c) But I am a muslim, Yoga will not be suitable for me
Wrong. I don’t know about other place but my experience in beyoga, I don’t see any connection with any religion at all – it’s just about getting fit and exercising and yess, sweating.
Located at Metropolitan Square, beyoga is easy to spot, even aku yang tak reti jalan ni boleh jumpa takkan orang lain tak boleh and no, I did not use my GPS.
The center is open everyday from 7.00am to 9.3opm on weekdays and 9.00am to 5.00pm on weekends and public holidays.
The center evoked a calm feeling the moment I stepped inside despite the feeling “Fuckkkkkkkkkk betul ke aku nak melipat badan ni?”
Huai Bin was first to arrive and later I met Nina and Iza –accompanied by Wani, followed by some other bloggers.
Not too long after my arrival, I was greeted by Ninie who is also the founder of beyoga.
So what was the agenda for the that day?
Yoga therapy and poses to help boost immunity system to fight airborne virus and common cold.
Sounds so benefiting to me, sebab I always end up having selsema and flu dan aku benci makan ubat. Lagi-lagi kalau asthma sakit jiwa okkkkkkk – I think you bunnies also know how I suffer whenever I got my asthma attack

And these are the sequences and poses that we do that day
One
Yoga Breathing technique
I learned how to breathe during yoga and surprisingly was not told to exhale using my mouth [Ala yang macam selalu diajar masa kelas PE/PJK tu la] but using the nose.
Two
Warm-up Stretches
Biasa warm up lari setempatlah apalah, tapi yang ni tak payah lari, simple exercise tapi boleh rasa otot meregang
Three
Alternate Nasal Breathing & Lion Pose.
Ha! This one will benefit people with sinus, asthma and sore throat the most. Performing lion pose at the very beginning of sakit tekak can stop the sakit tekak dari terus menghantui diri.
I also found out that this pose can help to stop snoring. Haaaaaa!
It is very easy to do, lepas bangun tido pon boleh – that’s what I did, since aku selalu kene 3 benda ni. So far so good despite the haze ;)
Aku nak demonstrate tapi aku takut kalau aku demo, bukan lion pose yang korang nampak tapi rupa chics yangsangat keji lagi menakutkan, lepas tu komfem korang tak datang sini dah hehe
Four
Sun Salutation
A series of 12 postures performed in a single, graceful flow. Each movement is coordinated with the breath. Inhale as you extend or stretch, and exhale as you fold or contract. The Sun Salutation builds strength and increases flexibility – taken from yogasite.com
It may sounded easy but trust me, this pose will make you start to sweat andd you will feel that your muscle started to work hard.
Five
Twist and Hip opener
This series of poses activate secondary organs for immune system macam lymph nodes dekat ketiak and groin. So bila kita buat pose pose ni during cold or flu, sangatlah berguna.
One of the poses that I remember the most is the warrior pose.

Chest-opening upper back bends
This one will active the primary organ of our immune system, the thymus, where is it? At the center of our chest.
This is when I learn how to do cobra pose and table pose.

Banyak lagi poselah, those were just few examples.
By this time, I was sweating like mad! Tula, kau ingat kau ingat yoga ni tak menyebabkan berpeluh? Not!
Seven
Inversion
Ahh. The most interesting part.
This pose increase the passive circulation of the lymphatic system, which is important for production and circulation of the immune cells. Bahagian nilah yang penting dalam melawan virus dan bacteria.
No, that’s not the interesting part.

And I managed to do it! 1 In fact everybody managed to do it, amazing isn’t it? Well, at least to me it is, sebab it was my first time.
What I am trying to say it, initially maybe we thought we cannot do it, we underestimate ourselves but with the right technique, posture and breathing, it is possible regardless what type of body you have.
Eight
Dead man pose
My favourite pose!
Sebab hanya baring macam orang mati sahaja hehe.
Although according to Ninie, never leave the class without this pose. Never.
The importance of relaxing and cooling down.
So did I feel at the end of the day?
Accomplished! Rasa macam baru lepas jog satu tasik looking from my wet t-shirt akibat peluh. I also felt the tinge of warmness after the class, the same feeling lepas jog or main futsal.

Cuma without the mengah feeling. I hate mengah sebab silap-silap boleh buat aku asthma.
As a total beginner I have no problem at all following all the instructions despite otak aku yang lembab dan sedikit lemau ini. And if you can’t to any pose, you don’t have to be shy, begoya is the place to learn, so whylah shy? Tak reti takpe nanti instructor dia tolong.
And for the rest of the day I feel happier despite the next day is the gloomy Monday.
Berlengas but happy!
Walaupunn lepas tu badan aku sakit akibat dilipat-lipat, I will still be going for yoga classes at beyoga. Sebab macam bestlah- I don’t know how to sexplain, you have to try it to understand.
Comelah, we yoga together-gether.
Who knows few more month you can become like this.
Abisla koyak peha aku kalau suruh buat camnii sekarang but hey who knows in another few month, tah-tah somersault berpusing pon boleh buat. [melampau tak? hehe]
