The moment I stepped outside from my room this morning,
Emak: Na!
Me: Apala?
Emak: Michael Jackson died!
Me: How do you know?* She was still in her telekung, bila masala pulak dia tahu. Takkan dapat wahyu masa sembahyang kot?
Emak: Cik Ell sms la.
Me: La ye ke? Biar betul?
Cik Ell is emak youngest sister, my aunt who is currently residing in New York. She has been there since.. I don’t know since aku form 1 maybe?
She seldom calls, only during Hari Raya or whenever our relatives passed away, kalau dengan nenek aku tu rajinla dia call. Sometimes she smsed us itupon sebab nak kasi tau mana mana butik yang ada sale, nak beli ke tak.
Ni maknanya agak gossip hangatla ni sampai nak sms, tapi takla hangat sangat sebab dia tak call.
Surprisingly, she didn’t know that the late Michael embraced Islam since last year. Sini siap keluar dekat surat khabar tu, siap tulis ayat-ayat cliche “berasa tenang dan damai bla..bla” macam biasa.
Maybe his news of converting tak sehangat his other news dekat sana. Maybe, I don’t know.
Anyway, I do feel sad because this is Micheal Jackson we are talking about. The Jacko, the eccentric singer with some high pitch aw aww with moonwalking and who could forget the thriller video yang sangat menakutkan aku tapi memang berjaya made a big impact sampai ada yang tiru the videoclip to be made in Tamil version.
No, I am not mocking, I am showing that what a big impact he had on people all over the world.
Putting aside all the scandals and whatever, he is indeed a great performer.
I think I am going to miss having him around [wahh macamla dia selalu lepak makan megi dengan aku kan]
Yet, my sadness is nothing to compared to the sadness yang aku rasa bila Steve Irwin mati. Itu memang rasa macam nak nangis [poyola pulakkk]
