So I decided to watch Shopaholic the Movie last Saturday. Since I am already at the Curve to buy some stuff, decided to give Platinum Cineplex a try. Usually we always go to The Gardens tapi malasla pulak aku dari the curve dak drive situ komfem jem. Apa jadahnya pulak kan?
It was good – plush and comfy, I like it. Tapi tak boleh cuddle-cuddle pasal ada meja dekat tengah :( . Eh aku ni nak review movie ke nak review cinema? Hehe. Anyway, as usual it will be in a point format.
Eh wait, spoiler alert, if you are planning to watch and don’t like spoilers, don’t continue.

Shall start with what I like about the movie.
- Isla Fisher is brilliant as Becky Bloomwood. Although she’s a redhead, no what I imagined Becky would be, she still managed to pull it off.
- The movie is pretty entertaining only if you separate the movie and the book. As a movie it was not bad.
- I lovee loveee the colours in the movie, I love colourful baju baju dan beg
- Although there’s no such thing as mannequin talking in the book, I love the idea. No brownie points for guessing why.
- The scarf is chantek also. It was simple yet expensive looking. I like that.
- The actor who plays Luke Brandon is yummy.
- I left the cinema feeling happy
Ok, now, things that I dislike about the movie.
- Instead of cramming three series of the book, the director should pay attetntion to one book/series at a time. The movie is all about the three books, jumbled up.
- It could be wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy wittier if it’s a Brit’s movie. Hollywood comedy is bland and to some extent, slapstick.
- Suze! Oh my, Krysten Ritter? I thought Suze is a blondie with good taste is Fashion. I imagined her as someone with delicate face but the actress, tsk.tsk. Tak masuk dengan apa yang aku imagine.
- Even Tarky! The lad who played Tarky doesn’t look geeky enough. Aku rasa bedmate aku lagi geeky ok. In my opinion I think Anthony Cozens will fits better.
- Ok, I did said Luke Brandon is yummy, as a person. But as Luke Brandon, the actor did not carry himself well. Luke Brandon is supposed to be more composed and wittier. More charismatic. Annnnnnnnnnnddddd, he will never use the”Sherman” name.
- There are many roles yang aku tak suke, senang cerita this movie should stay being Brits, not American. Sebab even in term of books pun, ada perbezaan yang besar between Brit and American writers.
- Oh this is crucial point too. Becky Bloomwood, would never be mean to anyone even when she really wanted to. But in this movie, she was mean to Derek Smeath, eventhough it was subtle but still. To melah,.Becky bloomwoon is a perky girl, full of ideas and imagination but never mean.
It would be better movie, if you don’t associate it with the famous book series.
Nevertheless, I enjoyed it.
