The other day when we went to Wong Solo for the second time [will blog about it in my next entry], we also went to the Galaxy mall nearby to buy some stuff from one of the Korean Supermarket.
Actually someone has been eyeing for this

Silkworm chrysalis or silkworm pupae [I thinklah!]. Or another form of insects according to me.
So why did we buy it?
Because orang itu adalah seorang yang suka nak mencuba benda-benda baru [dan mengarut]. I wanted to buy some slug or siput initially tapi bila aku tenung the can full of slugs aku rasa tekak aku kembang, so I put it down but he did not.
After leaving it on the cabinet for few weeks, I opened the can yesterday, to cook it, to be eaten along with our sambal petai. Haha how Malaysian is that.

The moment the can was opened, pungent smell was freed. Bau dia sangat celaka sampai they gave me bloody piercing headache. Bau serangga mati okkkkkkkkk. Mula-mula aku konfidenla nak masak benda ni tapi bila aku bukak-bukak je and nampak serangga-serangga itu terapung di dalam tin, aku jadi geli dan takut. Macam lipas dalam fear factor versi kecik ok.
So at least he came to help setelah aku terpisat-pisat geli. Eeeee

Ulat-ulat itu kemudiannya dibasuh. Ok my bad, from my reading [after aku masak benda ni], we are supposed to soak it in salt water for atleast 3 hours tapi aku basuh beberapa menet je hence, the bau is still there.

And then deep fry them. Oh my. Aku tak tahu nak explain macamana bau dia masa ni. Memang sangat celake okkkkkkkkk. Kau imaginela sendiri bau ulat dalam tin yang dah lama kene goreng.

Aku sengajala biarkan lama-lama sikit dalam frying pan, ala-ala nak kasi garingla sket konon. Supaya makan rasa krup krap. Haha

Initially looking from the the look and smell, I told myself there’s no way I am going to eat it. Tapi takkanlah pulak aku tak nak rasa lansung? Rugila pulak rasanya.
“Hmm. It tasted like hatilah. Not too bad.”
Ok. I bloody hate hati.
When I asked him does the taste resembles the smell, he said “Actually no you know”. He asked me to try and put one of the bugs into my plate. I told him to cut it half for me. Satu itu besar sangat dan rupanya adalah menakutkan, at least kalau half takdela rupa ulat sangatkan hehe.
Dan digaul-gaul dengan nasi bersama sambal ikan bilis dan petai. Dan…..dannnnnnnnnnn.. ngap.
You know the feeling of waiting for something bad to happen? Well, that’s how I felt last night. Dalam aku mengunyah-nguyah aku ternanti-nanti rasa yang pelik itu dan akhirnyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.. it tasted like that bloody smell. Reminded me of bila aku tekan ulat, isi putih dari dalam badan dia yang terkeluar akan mengeluarkan bau. Macam itulah. Sungguh lanchhhh rasanya ok.
I had to take two pills of milidon to cure the piercing headache.
Never again.
Orang itu pon tak terhabis, stop setelah beberapa kali sahaja. He said, he might need to get use to them first.
Itula kan, konon-konon nak adventurous sangat. Yet I still want to try to eat ulat sagu when I go back for Christmas nanti.
